Promoting a Legacy of Love.

Welcome to the Pack!

Our Journey Unleashed

Lady's Legacy Samoyed Pack is the four pawed part of our family. My dedication is to the breed, for the present and the future. Members of the pack live an active and loved life. They live in our home with us and are each considered cherished family members. I am a member of the national breed club (SCA) and am vice-president of the regional breed club (Minuteman Samoyed Club). The pack showcases the versatility of the breed with success in multiple sporting venues, as well as in the show ring. Their day-to-day home life includes rollerblading runs, saving the world from moles, comfy couch naps, romps in the yard, lots of car-ride adventures, training sessions, mind games, lots of treats, and watching Harry Potter nightly in bed.

The origin story of the pack starts with the addition of the pack's leader, Lady Yukon joining the family in 2019. 'Ladybug' as she's affectionately known, was everything Samoyeds are well-known for being - vocal, a social butterfly, independent, so much energy, insanely smart, very prey driven, sassy, food obsessed, an escape artist, an avid digger, leash puller, and automatic best friend to every person and dog she met - in short, she was a wild child in her youth. No amount of prior research about the breed ever prepared us for the reality of what life with Lady in it would mean. The first year there was a lot of frustration, chaos, laughter, belly-rubs, tears, and a huge learning curve on how to train this breed, but more than anything there was so much love. We were enchanted. The spark of obsession with the breed had begun. As Lady became an adult, she evolved into such a good girl. Her listening skills improved with dedication to training, and I found ways to channel her energy and natural drives into dog sports. It became clear she loved the time she spent with all her doggy friends, and increasingly clear that there could never be another breed for us after having a Samoyed. Much to Lady's delight, my soul-dog Duke joined us two years later. Duke was my first 'show dog'. Duke and Lady share a sire and thus are half-siblings. Duke is a very special dog to me, the first of many things including the first dog I owner-handled in the ring, and first dog I championed. As a show, prospect, Queenie (biological half-sister to Lady as they share the same dam) joined us two years after that as a puppy that Duke was absolutely convinced was his to raise from the moment she came home. The bond the two of them still share is incredibly touching, she has him wrapped around her little paw and he'll do anything to please her. Recently, Duchess has joined our pack and is fitting in very nicely. Quennie is quite enamored with her. We are excited to see how the pack expands and evolves in the future.
